The Kebbi State Government has distributed 26 operational vehicles to members of the state executive councils representing the 21 local government areas.
Governor Nasir Idris handed over the vehicles to commissioners in Birnin Kebbi, emphasizing their intended purpose for official engagements and addressing transportation challenges.
Governor Idris warned that any commissioner found selling or misusing the vehicles for unofficial purposes would face dismissal.

He underscored the importance of the vehicles in facilitating commissioners’ visits to their localities to better understand the challenges faced by the people.
In his statement, Governor Idris stated, “We have not given the vehicles to them for use as a luxury in the state capital, but to enable them to go back to their localities after their official engagements, interact with their people to know their problems.”
He emphasized the government’s people-oriented approach and reiterated that the vehicles were not meant for sale.
The governor made it clear that any commissioner found violating the proper use of the vehicles would face consequences.
Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Abubakar Garba-Dutsinmari, assured the governor that the vehicles would be used exclusively for their designated purpose.
