Gunmen abducted Mr. Joshua Rogers, a journalist and reporter with Channels Television, from his residence in Rumuosi, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State on Thursday night.
Rogers, who covers the Rivers State Government House, was reportedly trailed after closing from work.
The assailants intercepted him before he exited his car, brandished a firearm, and forcefully took him and his vehicle to an undisclosed location around 9 pm.

According to a source, Rogers had earlier covered an event at Ndoni in Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area, where a Primary Healthcare Centre was inaugurated by Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
The facility, donated by the PAMO Educational Foundation founded by former Rivers governor Dr. Peter Odili, was the subject of the coverage.
The source, pleading anonymity, appealed for Rogers’ safe and immediate release, emphasizing his role as a journalist rather than a wealthy individual.
The kidnappers reportedly contacted Rogers’ wife, demanding N30 million as ransom.
Attempts to confirm the incident with the State Police Command spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, were unsuccessful as calls and messages went unanswered.
