The University of Ilorin, Kwara State, has taken disciplinary action against 14 students for alleged misconduct and involvement in examination malpractices.
The university’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Kunle Akogun, announced the expulsion of these students in a statement released on Monday.
According to the university’s bulletin, the expulsion of these students was based on the recommendations of the Students’ Disciplinary Committee, approved by the Vice Chancellor.
The committee made its recommendations during its 219th meeting held on January 10 and 11, 2024.

Nine of the expelled students had their names published in the university’s weekly bulletin.
Among them were seven final-year students from various departments, as well as two students from the 300 and 100 levels respectively.
The expelled students include Lateef Lukman Olayemi, Kuranga Abdulmuiz Olalekan, Ogundijo Abdulmalik Akinkunmi, Ashekun Oladiji Quadri, Musa Mohammed Asus, Ahmed Saddam Opeyemi, Ayinla Jamiu Olaitan, Eqwudah Lucky Ojonumba, and Adebisi Janet Bosede.
These students were from different departments across the university, ranging from Agriculture/Aquaculture and Fisheries to Engineering and Technology, Life Sciences, Education, and Arts.
The University of Ilorin’s decision to expel these students underscores its commitment to maintaining academic integrity and upholding disciplinary standards.
